A VISUAL
You may not know it, but
You're beautiful
I may not show it but..
From these eyes
I see visions
That become surreal antagonists
Of a warrior strength from many lifetimes
Ions that cling on laws of electric lands
And though those visions of you, Black man
Dwell within this mind of mine
We do not exist
I can't even tell you what I miss
Because these thoughts merely consist
Of wild rhythms that rock my hips
To a languid heartbeat
Drawing us to dance upon a canvass
Of invisible ink
I cannot miss what it is
I have never beheld
Yet I hold this vision
Clenched in a fist of need
Your words and deeds
I keep compiled on pages of mental memorabilia
To which I can relate
And I take them upon the palate
Of midnight fantasies
Where I feast heartily
Like a malnourished child
Devouring the captivity of dazing
Into onyx pools
That surround blood stained irises
They leave me amazed in a sandman persuasion
I feel utter elation of
Stories told and untold
As the pages unfold
Blowing in the wind
Again and again
But not often
Though my heart feels like steel
I am softened as your eyes recite
Chapters of your heart's
Pain, love and passion
Meshing
Styled in a deep felt fashion
Within the words you write
Spilling from your tongue
In accents pronounced
Within the pathways of hell spent
Syllables
Parables of night life
And fast rites of passage
You may not know it, but
You're beautiful
I may not show it but..
From these eyes
I see visions
That become congealed protagonists
Of a warrior strength from many lifetimes
They are defined
Scripted by images of ink flowing from a pen
Of pent up frustrated grind
Seeping out messages to the minions
That drip like rain
A Flow like pain
Singing songs to the caged bird
In melodies that drift
from nested windows exposing souls
You may not know it, but
You're beautiful
I may not show it but..
From these eyes
I see visions
That become real life magic
As you break loose from strongholds
With the warrior strength from many lifetimes
